✽ TASK 2: Function of each equipment ✽

Now, we move to the second task that we have to elaborate the function of each equipment.

CROCKERY


 Crockery is used to refer to various types of tableware.
✽ They also a type of dish ware which is used at the table during mealtime.
✽ Crockery includes plates, cups, serving platters, bowl and dishes which is used to hold condiments, like  gravy bowls.



GLASSWARE

 The glassware is usually transparent or translucent material that has no crystalline structure yet behaves like a solid. 
  This types of glassware includes drinking vessels (drink ware) and tableware used to set a table for eating a meal, general glass items such as vases, and glasses used in the catering industry, whether made of glass or plastics (such as polystyrene and polycarbonate).


CUTLERY


 Cutlery refers to any hand implement used in preparing, serving, and especially eating food in the Western world.
 It is more usually known as silverware or flatware in the United States, where cutlery usually means knives and related cutting instruments.
 This is probably the original meaning of the word. Since silverware suggests the presence of silver, the term tableware has come into use.

CHINA WARE



China ware hard, white, translucent pottery with soft glaze , known as porcelain . It originated in China but is now produced in various countries.

✽ TASK 1: Job Specification in Food & Beverages ✽

So, our lectures have given us first task which we have to describe about job summary for every the personnel below:

Restaurant managers ✽

What is restaurant managers? Restaurant manager is a person who plan, organize, and coordinate the workers and resources of the restaurant as they must coordinate a variety of activities, whatever the size or type of the outlet. They also pleases customers by providing a pleasant dining experiences.

their job specification are: 

✽ Investigate and resolve complaints concerning food quality and service 
✽ Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas.
✽ Preparing reports at the end of the shift/week, including staff control, food control and sales.
✽ Controls costs by reviewing portion control and quantities of preparation, minimizing waste, ensuring high quality of preparation.
✽ Meeting and greeting customers and organise table reservations.
✽ Planning and coordinating menus
✽ Ensuring that all employees adhere to the company's uniform standards.
✽ Avoids legal challenges by conforming to the regulations of the alcoholic beverage commission.

✽ waiter ✽

Are you the type of person who can charm even the grumpiest of old men? Could you carry a hot bowl of soup through a hurricane without breaking a sweat? Yeah this is the waiter/waitress do =). Waiter/waitress means a person who take orders and serve food and beverages to customers.

Their job specifications are :

✽ Assist the senior waiter in the side station set up and according to his/ her order.
✽ To attend the daily briefing
✽ Responsible for receiving, greeting, and seating of guest.
✽ Responsible for taking guest order for food and beverages 
and serving them
✽ Wiping the cutlery, glasses, and plates for efficient serve and stock




✽ Bartender 
Have you heard about bartender before?? Lets we explain what is bartender. Bartender is a person who mix and serve drinks to patrons, directly or through wait staff. 

Their job specifications are:

✽ Collect money for drink served.
✽ Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
✽ Clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipments.
✽ Serve wine, and bottled of draft beer.
✽ Supervise the work of bar staff and other bartenders.



✽ Runner 
How about runner?? do you know what is runner? Runner means a person who is serve food to individuals outside of a restaurant, such as in hotels rooms, hospital rooms, residential, care facilities or cars.

Their job specifications are:

✽ Carry food, silverware , or linen or trays or use carts to carry trays.
✽ Place food serving on plates or trays according to orders or instructions.
✽ Clean the sterilize dishes, kitchen utensils, equipments or facilities.
✽ Examine the trays to ensure that they contain required items.
✽ Load trays with accessories such as eating utensils, napkins, or condiments.



✽ Steward 
For us, steward is a person who assigns kitchen helper and other non cooking employees to such activities as dish washing and silver cleaning.

Their job specifications are:

✽ Inspect kitchen, work rooms and equipments for cleanliness and order.
✽ Takes inventories china ware, silverware, and glassware.
✽ Report shortages and requisition replacement of equipment from purchasing agents.
✽ May be working supervisor in establishment employing and executive chef.
✽ May be designated according to area of work as pantry steward.


✽ Hostess 
Let we explain about hostess. Hostess means a person who greet arriving guest, welcoming them into the establishment and seat them.

Their job specifications are:

✽ Monitoring the open dining sections of the restaurant for empty and cleaned tables.
✽ Estimating wait times for guest.
✽ Monitoring the guest waiting list.
✽ Ensuring that the needs of the guest are met while they are waiting.
✽ Answering the telephone and moving tables together to accommodates large parties.

food and beverages class awesome!!

Assalamualaikum and hi to all my readers, every thursday we have food and beverages class at Restoran Baiduri. On previous class we have been divided on each group for this class. Our group members are Ammar, Atilia, Azie and Afiqah.  On our first class, our lectures have given an explanation and introduction about F&B. Then, on 2nd week my classmates are completely in uniform for F&B class. So, of course my group are excitedly and happily with our new uniform~ we have take a picture :3 take a look =P
